An older fuseboard does not automatically need replacing. Its condition and the protection it provides are what matter.
Look for damage, scorch marks, overheating or frequent tripping. An older board with rewireable fuses, a plastic enclosure in an escape route, or little RCD protection should be assessed, but those features do not automatically mean it fails an EICR. A test button may indicate RCD protection; it does not by itself prove every circuit has suitable protection.
A qualified electrician can inspect and test the installation, explain any risks, and tell you whether repair, extra protection or a replacement board is appropriate. Do not remove the cover or touch wiring inside the board.
