Call us promptly about repeated tripping, a burning smell, scorch marks, sparking fittings, damaged or exposed wiring, water reaching electrics, or unexplained loss of power. Keep clear of the affected area and stop using the faulty equipment.

If there is fire, smoke or an immediate danger to life, get to safety and call 999 first. Do not wait for a call-out or try to investigate a suspected fire.

A single failed light or socket may be suitable for a planned visit only if there are no signs of heat, burning, sparking, damage or other danger. If you are unsure, call us for advice.

Keep people and pets away from damaged fittings, exposed wiring and water near electrics. Do not remove covers or attempt electrical repairs. Do not repeatedly reset a breaker or RCD that keeps tripping.

Only switch off the affected circuit or main switch if you can reach and operate it safely. Do not touch a wet, hot, damaged or sparking fuseboard, and never enter standing water to reach it. If it is unsafe to approach, keep clear and tell us.

Yes. Our initial telephone advice is free. We will ask what has happened and help you decide the safest next step. We will not ask you to open electrical equipment or attempt a repair. If no visit is needed, there is no call-out charge.

If you suspect a power cut affecting the incoming supply, check Northern Powergrid’s power-cut information or call 105 free of charge. A supply fault can affect one property as well as a wider area, so neighbours having power does not rule it out.

Do not touch the electricity meter, service cable or sealed main fuse. For a fault within your property, we can confirm whether an electrician’s visit is needed and explain the charges before you book.

Tell us about the fault. Call 07871 260366 with your address, postcode and a description of the problem. Let us know about water, burning smells, damaged equipment or anyone who depends on electricity for essential equipment.

Confirm the visit. We will explain availability, an estimated arrival time and the charges before you book. The call-out includes up to the first hour of labour on site for £220, followed by £80 per hour for additional labour.

Pay before we travel. The initial £220 must be paid before the electrician sets off. We will confirm the booking and how to pay directly with you.

Assess and make safe. On arrival we investigate the fault and prioritise making the affected electrics safe. A circuit may need to remain switched off until it can be repaired safely.

Agree any further costs. We explain any extra labour, parts or return visit before further work is agreed. You receive a record of the work and any electrical certification appropriate to the repair carried out.
