Can my house take an EV charger? Three things decide it.
Your main fuse. Most homes have a 60, 80 or 100 amp supply. A 7kW charger draws around 32 amps, so on a smaller supply the charger may need load limiting, which most smart chargers handle automatically.
Your earthing arrangement. Some supply types need additional protection before a charger can be fitted outdoors. This is a common reason a quote comes back higher than expected.
Your consumer unit. There needs to be a spare way and enough capacity. An old board may need replacing first.
A photo of your fuseboard and where you park is usually enough for an electrician to tell you whether it is straightforward.
